Louis Edward Levias went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 2, 2009. He passed on due to complications caused by bladder cancer at Sierra Medical Hospital in El Paso. He was 75 years old at the time of his death. Louis was born on July 28, 1934 in Call, Texas. His parents were the deceased Buster Levias and Bernice Armstrong. His brothers were Curtis Levias and Elmer Wilkins Jr., both deceased. He is survived by sisters Beatrice Johnson of Beaumont TX and Wilurtha Taylor of Renton, WA. His wife was Ivory Ola Levias who preceeded him in death on October 9, 2008. He has two sons; Kurt Levias of Denver, CO and Darrell Levias of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louis retired after twenty years of service in the U.S. Air Force and Army in 1972. Then he was an independent insurance agent for 10 years following his retirement. Louis spent the later part of his life taking care of his wife during her illness; and visiting and helping old sick friends. He served as a deacon at both Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church and New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church in El Paso. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 10, 2009 at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church , 9491 Railroad Dr. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
