One of The Bolanos Brothers of El Paso, TX, Louis C. Bolanos, 66, lost his last battle with cancer on September 16, 2012. Louis was born February 9, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, the son of late Margaret and Luis Bolanos. He was the eldest of four brothers who were the only brothers to serve in the Vietnam War at the same time. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy as a crew chief and helicopter door gunner and had an outstanding four-year career (1965-1969). Louis also worked as an engineer for the Santa Fe railroad and after 20 years successfully retired in 1991, thereafter he ran his own business and benevolently spent countless hours advocating for veterans locally and throughout the United States. On June 7, 1973, he proudly married Estela Loya, who survives him. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Adrian Louis and Veronica Bolanos of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Karina, Adrina, and Adrian Louis Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Lynn and Robin Moore of Garland, TX.; grandchildren, Robert and Isabella; and brothers, Ben, Bill, and Rick. Louis Bolanos will be sorely missed for he was a beloved, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend and a true Patriot. Memorial Gathering will be from 6-9 pm Sunday, September 23, 2012 with a Vigil at 6:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Memorial Service will be at 1 pm Monday, September 24, 2012 at San Jose Mission. Inurnment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home East.
