Lorenzo "Mr. R." Ramirez

March 12, 1925 — April 6, 2009

Lorenzo S. Ramirez, affectionately known as Grandpa Lencho or Mr. R to his family and friends, age 84, of El Paso, Texas passed away on April 6, 2009. Preceded in death by his beloved son, Ruben Ramirez, left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years, Cruz F. Ramirez, sons, Ricardo (Janie) Ramirez and Rodolfo Ramirez, daughters Ruth (Danny) Bernal and Rebecca (Mark) Duran. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren , 12 great grandchildren and his brother, Manuel Ramirez of Lordsburg, New Mexico and his sister, Kate Lopez of Beaumont, Texas, plus a wealth of family and friends. He was born and raised in Sierra Blanca, Texas, was a WW II veteran, and was retired from Civil Service. Pallbearers are his grandsons and nephew: Lorenzo Cruz Ramirez, Rodolfo Ramirez Jr., Alexander Ramirez, Daniel Bernal, Mark Duran, and Patrick Ramirez. Special thanks to Dr. Pinaroc and her staff, Primavera Home Health Care Agency, and Jennifer Motley with Department of Aging & Disabilities Services! Visitation- 4-9 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina. Vigil/Rosary- 7 pm Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass- 12 noon, Friday, April 17, 2009 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Papacito, you were ALWAYS there for all of us, you are forever in our hearts, and know that you and our brother, Ruben, are now watching over all of us in heaven. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
