Lorenzo Carrillo

Lorenzo Carrillo, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22nd, 2020. Lorenzo was born in El Paso, Texas on December 18, 1941. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. While in high school, Lorenzo was a member of the marching band serving as drum major for 3 years. He also played on the basketball and baseball teams. He enjoyed playing the saxophone with local jazz groups and had a passion for music throughout his life. He married Sara Lopez on August 24, 1962 and they remained married until Sara’s death on April 13, 2017. Lorenzo worked as a meat cutter and later as a market manager for Furr’s Super Markets for 35 years. He was a beloved member of Sun City Christian Center where he served with great joy. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Mejia Carrillo and Guadalupe Montes Carrillo, his sisters Lola Ramirez and Elvira Carrillo. He is survived by his daughter; Christina Carrillo, son; David Carrillo, sister; Alicia Carrillo, and brother; Jose Carrillo. Lorenzo has two grandchildren: Richard Alexander Pena and Jose Antonio Carrillo. Visitation and Prayer service will be held for Lorenzo on Thursday, May 28 from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home -Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas.
