Little F. (Bill) Gilbert

1SGT (Ret) Little F. (Bill) Gilbert, went to be with his Savior on his 81st birthday, December 31, 2009 in the loving care of his family. Bill was a decorated Vietnam veteran, awarded two Bronze Stars with “V” as well as others. After retiring from the Army, he managed American Police Security Service and later founded Northeast Iron and Steel. He is survived by his wife, Katharina, daughter, Linda Leiby (Craig), son, Buhrmann Gilbert (Nydia), grandchildren, Vanessa Francikowski, Erika Boone, Stuart and Alexis Leiby, and great grandsons, Kayden and Jett Francikowski. Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Center One Chapel, Fort Bliss, Texas. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
