Lily peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 02, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in El Paso, Texas in 1929 to Concepcion Sanchez and Pedro M. Chavez. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband; Raul Martinez Jr., and her son; Edward Paul Martinez. Lily is survived by her other two sons; Raul Martinez III, and Dan Ray Martinez (Lety Velazquez), her daughter-in-law; Charlyn Martinez, her grandchildren; Raul Martinez IV, Frank Allen, Lilian, Ericka, and Edward Jr., her great-grandchildren; Noella, Elowen, Jaden, Julian, Raul Martinez V, and Liam Martinez, her sister; Montseratt Chavez-Lopez, her brother; Raymundo Chavez, and many nieces and nephews.
Some of Lily’s accomplishments include her most notable career as a Real Estate Broker for approximately 43 years. She was a renowned member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and participated as a Eucharistic Minister. She was employed at Old State National Bank for 13 years and at Southwest National Bank for 2 years. Lily was also Board of Director for the Greater El Paso Board Realtors for 6 years and was even nominated Salesman of the Year. She also served on the board of Directors for Family Services for 12 years. Previously, she was a member of the Hispanic and El Paso Chamber of Commerce.
Lily was a graduate of Leadership El Paso, a nominee for the Reach Awards, and a nominee for Small Business Person of the Year. She was a highly active member of Polly Harris Senior Center and even elected Queen for the years 2015-2016.
However, in spite of her numerous accomplishments, the most important aspects of her life were her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed. She was the support and strength that her family needed at all times and gave love to everyone that entered her life.
A Rosary will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with a Memorial Mass to commence at 11:30am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912.
An Inurnment will follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery; 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
