LeRoy J. Glardon,

LeRoy J. Glardon, Jr., Slim as he was known was born in El Paso, TX July 30, 1938, he attended El Paso High School, where he played Varsity Basketball and was also the president of the EPHS Chapter of Future Farmers of America. He graduated in 1956. After high school he attended New Mexico State University, where he played basketball and competed in the Event of Steer Wrestling on the Aggie Rodeo Team. He graduated in 1962 with a B.S. degree in Agriculture. After college, he was employed by the Good Sight Ranch, INC. in northeast Luna County, NM, and was a member of Luna Co. Sheriffs Posse in Deming, NM in the late sixties he started a Hay and Grain Business and worked at Santa Fe Downs, Sunland Park, and Ruidoso Downs. He also owned and operated the old Quarter Pole Lounge on Doniphan in El Paso. He is survived by his wife: MaryLou (Lucy), daughter: Rita L. Kaplan from Coral Springs, FL, grandchildren: Zachary and Zoe Kaplan, sister: Margaret Kribs, niece: Kathy Kribs and nephew: Curtis Kribs all from San Diego, CA. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
