Leopoldo Sandoval

Leopoldo passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13th at his home. His wife, Ernestina Sandoval, son, Daniel Sandoval, and daughter, Thania Sandoval, will never forget him and are thankful for the love, support, and protection he provided as a father, protector, and mentor. The family will continue to be strong and united. Leopoldo was born in Loreto, Rio Grande, Zacatecas on November 29, 1952. He was the sixth of nine children of Jose Sandoval Garay and Carlota Arredondo. He married the love of his life, Ernestina, on December 23, 1978. They lived 30 beautiful years together and raised two great children. Leopoldo obtained a License in Commercial Relations on May 9, 1980 from Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico City. When he came to El Paso, TX, he worked for Sanchez Construction starting in 1986. He completed many challenging projects and mentored many workers. Always firm and fair. He always placed his family before himself. To him, family and time were the most important things in life. Everything else really did not matter. The pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed in February was the only challenge he was not able to overcome. The time between the diagnosis and his passing was that of joy in creating beautiful memories for Ernestina, Daniel, and Thania to share with everyone.Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 pm, Friday, August 14, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 am, Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment: Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
