Leona Inez Cox

Leona Inez (Christmas) Cox passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2023 in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 94.  Leona lived in and around the El Paso area her whole life.  She was the owner/ operator of “The Little Dinner” restaurant in Central El Paso during the 50’s and Coxes Furniture on Dyer Street during the 60’s.  Leona’s happiest days were spent hosting get togethers in her home for family and friends or traveling.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of seventy years, J.C. Cox Jr. and her son John Christmas.  Leona leaves behind three daughters:  Cathy, Jan and Mary; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; ten great, great grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held to celebrate Leona’s life on April 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 8700 Dyer Street.  Services were arranged through Sunset Funeral Homes, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, TX.
