MSgt Leo F. Lohrman (Ret.) USAF, passed away on February 16, 2013 at the age of 90. He was born on June 4, 1922 in Ironton, OH, son of Fred and Margaret Lohrman. He enlisted in 1941 and served throughout World War II. His military awards include: Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters AM – GO 49, Hq Twelfth AF, 11 Mar 45, 1st – 3d OLC – GO 109, Hq Twelfth AF, 19 May 45, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars, WWII Victory Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He retired in October 1964 and began a career in Civil Service at For Bliss, Texas for an additional 20 years before retiring a second time. He is survived by his son, Fred J. Lohrman, daughter-in-law Guadalupe Y. Lohrman, grandson, Fred J. Lohrman, step-grandson Emanuel (Bud) Hajek, his wife Diane Hajek, and son Matthew Hajek along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed but will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas 79904. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30pm, at St. Michael’s Chapel #2, Sheridan Rd., Ft. Bliss, Texas 79906. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
