Leland M. Swegheimer

Retired Sergeant First Class Leland M. Swegheimer Jr., 68, passed away April 6, 2009 at William Beaumont Medical Center. He was born on April 24, 1940 in Massillon, Ohio to Leland M. Swegheimer Sr. and Helen V. Lowe. He was married to Elaine C. Dahlgard on April 13, 1967. The shared 41 blissful years together. He is preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Thelma Dreher, Ruth Morris and Stella Langford. Survivors include wife, Elaine, children, William (Lynn) Swegheimer of Columbus, Georgia, Darla (Tim) Rowan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Karen Blohm of Rowlett, Texas, and Donna (Philip) Weber of Minot, North Dakota; brothers, Richard and Donald of Canton, Ohio, Betty Osborne of Waynesburg, Ohio and Esther Davis of Canton, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; former wife Emma Feriani of Wooster, Ohio, many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 am, Friday, April 10, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Committal Service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 10, 2009 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The Family will receive friends and family at their home following Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
