Larry H. Towns

LARRY H. TOWNS, 74, passed away on Sunday, 10 April 2022

Larry was born in Baltimore, Maryland on 20 October 1947.  He graduated from Dundalk High School and left to serve his country proudly in the United States Army.  Larry married the love of his life, Barbara, on 29 April 1967. 

Larry served his country proudly for 24 years in the US Army and retired as MSG in 1990.  He then retired from Raytheon in 2007.  He loved bowling, the bowling community, and was a great athlete in many sports, especially baseball. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Doris and Herman Towns, brother; Phillip Towns, in-laws; Beverly and LTC Bill France, and brother-in-law; Laird France.  He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Barbara Towns, son; Jason Towns, and daughter; Melissa James, his brother; Jerry Towns and sister-in-law, Dale Towns, son-in-law; Jason James, daughter-in-law; Angel Towns, granddaughters; Reagan and Ryleigh; sister-in-law; Sherri Allen and brother-in-law Richard Allen, sister-in-law; Mannette France, nieces and nephews: Laird, Eric, and Meagan France, and Ryan, Matthew, and Erica Allen, and grand dogs; Snoop and Goldie.

A funeral visitation will be held for Larry on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr.  Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Committal Service will follow at 1:00 pm, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
