Larry K. Simmon

Larry Kenneth Simmon, 66, of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away from cancer peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Larry was born to Kenneth and Deana Simmon on August 18, 1946 he lived most of his life in El Paso Texas. Larry was loving and proud of his two sons Larry Simmon JR and Scott Simmon, of Reading Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his step son Richard Hall step daughter Michelle Rueda and his wife and best friend, Taeko Simmon. Larry served 20 years of his career with the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He also is retired from the El Paso Sheriffs Department with 24 years. After retirement he donated his time building bicycles for Operation Santa. As a very busy man he also was a member of the local VFW. Larry was a passionate man who enjoyed gardening with his wife. In his spare time he enjoyed building custom cars, watching TV (especially history shows) and riding his motorcycle. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will begin at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
