Kurt Frederick (Fred) Gibbe

Kurt Frederick (Fred) Gibbe, Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed on February 23, 2007 in El Paso, Texas. Fred was born in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1925 and is preceded in death by his parents, Winifred Johnson Gibbe and Walter George Gibbe. He is also preceded by his siblings Carl, Herbert and Amy. He is survived by his wife Margaret Frank Gibbe and children Kurt Gibbe, Deborah Porter, and Maggie Chessman. Grandchildren include Kristian and Kyle Gibbe, Amy and Charlotte Porter and Kurt and Elise Chessman. Fred attended Shriner Institute in Kerrville, Texas and graduated from Texas College of Mines in 1948. He was a brilliant Chemist and worked for Southwestern Portland Cement Company for 35 years. He was a Rotarian as well as an active member of Queen of Peace Church; where the funeral mass will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 10 am.
