Kenneth Clark Smith

October 13, 1949 — June 21, 2022

El Paso

Kenneth Clark Smith, age 72, went to be with his Lord on June 21, 2022. He was born on October 13, 1949 in Long Beach, California. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Albert Smith and mother Patricia O'Neil. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran who served two tours of duty as a military police officer in Bad Tolz, Germany and at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX.

He met and married the love of his life, Guadalupe Vasquez, in El Paso, TX. They married on March 23, 1974. They were blessed with two children, David and Rachel. He loved his family and did all he could to make sure they were well taken care of. Kenneth was a hard worker with an unwavering work ethic.  He had a long career in civil service at White Sands Missile Range where he retired after 26 years. He was a train enthusiast and had an impressive collection of model trains. Everywhere he saw trains he would stop and watch them. He also enjoyed long nature walks, ponds, and walking the mountain trails in Cloudcroft, NM, admiring God's little creatures. He had an ardent passion for God’s teachings and would share the good news any chance he got. When he wasn’t preaching, he told stories of exciting adventures in his life that could fill a book. Kenneth was one of a kind. He loved to joke around and had the uncanny ability to come up with quips at a moment’s notice.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Guadalupe, his 2 children: David Smith and his wife Alisa; and Rachel Rainosek and her husband James; and his 4 grandchildren: Taylor, Jaxon, Aubrey and Zachary and one great grandchild: Alaina. He is also survived by his sister Leslie Ann Borregard and her husband Mike. Kenneth was loved very much and will be deeply missed.
