Our beloved mother, Karen Campbell, passed away Tuesday, January 16 at the age of 75. She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Edward and Virginia Morrison. She was a child when they moved to El Paso. She attended Loretto Academy and Austin High School. She was married to her husband, Kenneth Campbell, for nearly 35 years until his death in 2011. She is survived by her children Barbara Patriarchias (Pat), Carol Gutierrez (Daniel), Jerry Fuls, Donna Castillo (Henry), and Jeffrey Campbell (Jennifer). She was lovingly known as mamaw to her numerous grandchildren (21) and great-grandchildren (23 and one on the way). Everyone knew her as mamaw. She was preceded in death by her brother Douglas Morrison.
Her devotion and love for her family kept her going throughout the years. She believed in family and loved having them around especially during the holidays. In fact, she worked most holidays so she could take time off during Christmas.
She had an extensive background in the medical field where she worked for the majority of her career.
She chaperoned many softball games, took country western dance classes, loved puzzles and Reader’s Digest, and was an avid dog lover. She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church where she attended mass every Saturday without fail.
We love you mom.
