Judy Lee (Scott) Kendrick, passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 83. Judy was born on May 2, 1940, to W.W. Pete Scott and Edith Stringfield Scott in Newport News, Virginia. A proud army brat, Judy traveled the world with her father, step-mother (Rita Scott), and three siblings (Charles, Nancy, and Susan) the family eventually settled in Fort Bliss, Texas. She attended Burgess High School, becoming the school’s first Homecoming Queen, JROTC-Princess, and head cheerleader, occasionally getting caught smoking a cigarette or two in the girl’s bathroom. Judy went on to marry Ralph “Buzzy” Kendrick in April of 1961 and welcomed their daughter, Kellie, in 1965. Judy was the Secretary of the Northeast Rotary Club for over 30 years and an active member of the Junior Women’s League of El Paso, she helped form the Radford Service Organization (RSO) while Kellie attended high school, always encouraging young women to give back to their community. Along with Buzzy, she was a founding member of the El Paso Boat Club, which became like a second family. Judy became a grandmother in 1993 to her “perfect sunshine” Dylan Ray and “sweetheart” Hannah Lee, which was her favorite role in life. She is proceeded in death by her mother Edith Stringfield and Pete and Rita Scott, brother Charles, husband Buzzy, and many close friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Kellie Kendrick (Kenn), grandchildren Dylan Harris (Samantha), Hannah Harris, sisters Nancy and Susan (Michael), and several nieces and nephews.
Gathering of Remembrance will take place from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, with Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass.
