Juan Manuel Femath Sr., 66, passed away on August 11, 2021. He was born on August 29th, 1954, was an El Paso resident and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Isabel "Chabela" Femath; father, Jesus Jose Femath Sr. He is survived by sons; Juan Jr. (Anna), Eduardo, Michael (Julie), and Stephen (Jennifer); brothers; Jesus Jr. (Annie), Armando (Marianne), Hector; and sister, Rosie. Left to carry on his memory are his twin granddaughters, Erin and Emily.
He will be missed by his extended family and many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
Master Sergeant (retired) Femath served his country in the Air Force for 24 years as a Physical Therapy and Medical Services Specialist, retiring in 2001. He was awarded numerous medals to include the Meritorious Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, and the NATO Medal. He deployed around the world in support of operations to include Deliberate Force and Deny Flight. He demonstrated great pride with anyone he talked to about his distinguished service and carried a picture wearing his uniform in his wallet ready at any moment to share.
Juan loved spending time with his family, discussing baseball or just simply sitting in the stands supporting his loved ones. He loved his music, watching his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and San Antonio Spurs.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 23rd from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home - Americas with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 24th at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors. His sons and nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home - Americas.
