Juan S. Calanche

Juan S. Calanche, entered into the kingdom of heaven on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, at the age of 86. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born to parents Manuel and Merced Calanche. He grew up in Valentine, TX, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from the Texas Employment Commission after 35 years. He was a genuine soul who would put a smile on anyone’s face with his humor and personality and will be sorely missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and wife, Ninfa Calanche. He is survived by his 4 loving daughters, Norma Estrada, Irene Reed, Grace Sanchez, and Lucia Corchado, his grandchildren Orlando, Kristina, Amanda, Michael, and Jeremy, and his 4 beloved great grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday January 12th, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home East (750 N. Carolina) with visitation from 4 pm-8 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 13th, 2022, at St. Stephen Catholic Church (1700 George Dieter) at 9:00 am.
