Joyce Woodall Roberts

Joyce Woodall Roberts passed away on April 8, 2010 in El Paso, Texas. Our hearts are saddened by the loss of this great lady who touched our lives in so many ways. Joyce was born June 14, 1919 in Manchester, England, where she was later to meet her future husband Joe, serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married on December 4, 1943. She experienced first hand the London Blitz. While in England their son Joseph Jefferson Roberts Jr. was born. Preceding her in death was her husband Joseph J. Roberts; son Joseph J. Roberts Jr.; father William Henry Woodall; mother Annie Woodall; brother Billie Woodall. Joyce is survived by her cousins Audrey and husband Ken Strohm; and children Elizabeth Strohm and Paul Strohm and his family, all of Scotland; nephew Jamie Woodall Alkrington, Middletown, England and niece Vickie Woodall of Sydney, Australia. Joyce joined Harmony Chapter #244 Order of the Eastern Star in 1947, now consolidated with Wallace Hughston Chapter #1100. She served as Worthy Matron in 1958 and was Worthy Grand Matron of the state of Texas in 1976-1977. Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, TX on April 15, 2010 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Fort Bliss Natonal Cemetery. (Family Only).
