Joseph E. Wilson

Joseph E. Wilson, 78, of El Paso , TX died June 12, 2011. Joe was born September 23, 1932 in Fairfield , IL to Fred and Iva (Kuster) Wilson. He served in the United States Army and was retired with a disability from the United States Air Force. Joe was very active in civic organizations through the years. He was a member of the Wallace Houston Lodge, American Legion and DAV. He also served as PTA President at Terrace Hills Elementary and Andress High School . Joe was a precinct chairman for his district, was involved in Indian Guides and coached little league baseball. He also had his Real Estate license. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ilmi (Saarikoski); children: Cathy McKee and Joseph E. Wilson, Jr. of El Paso, TX; and Sam (Debra) Wilson of Anderson, SC; grandchildren: Tarah (Brian) Lynch, Ryan (Tim) Kirch, Sheree (Bryan) Williams and Cody (Chassidy) Coleman; great-grandchildren: Ali and Jason Lynch, Sydney, Lauren and McKayla Kirch, Riley Williams and Tucker Coleman; sisters: Lucy Porter and Marie Wells; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Joe will be missed by his family and all who knew him. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
