Joseph Toliver, Jr.

25 April 1941 – 10 December 2023

Joseph Toliver, Jr. was born in Norfolk, Virginia on 25 April 1941.  He was called to his heavenly home on 10 December 2023.  Joseph graduated from Crestwood High school in 1959 and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army.  Joseph earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering, which he put to use as a supervisor at the United States Army Operational Test Command.  Joseph served as the District Governor of the El Paso Lion’s Club (District 2-T3) and also served as the President of Operation Santa Claus at Ft. Bliss.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Geneva and Joseph Tolliver, who have prepared a place for him. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-seven years, Dorothea, his daughter Sandra, son-in-law Charles, and his grandchildren Nicholaus and Alexis Thomas, as well as his siblings Thelma, Vernon, and Ervin Tolliver.

Visitation for Joseph Toliver, Jr. will be held at 10:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30am on Tuesday, 19 December 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast.  The Committal Service will follow at 11:30am at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors, 5200 Fred Wilson.
