Josefa Chavez

Josie (Chara) Silva- Chavez earned her wings into heaven on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was 78 years old and was born and raised in Ysleta in El Paso, TX, a graduate of Ysleta High School and a proud member of the Ysleta all girls Drum Corps. Josie was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, among other things. Her presence always lit up a room and will be greatly missed by all. She loved all and is loved by many.

Josie is survived by her beloved husband, Luis Chavez Sr., her children Luis Jr., Melinda, Christina, Jaime, Rene and five grandchildren to cherish her memory forever. We love you Josie.  

A visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM wit with a rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 131 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907. A mass will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church. A graveside will then follow at 11:15 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
