Jose Luis Vela

Jose Luis Vela, 51 years old, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, but his faith in God made him strong. Jose was always kind to anyone that crossed his path, immediately making a friend for life that they could trust. A great husband for 26 years, a friend, thru good and bad times always. A great and wonderful brother, stepfather and grandfather. A hard and dedicated worker that was considered an exceptional employee to all his bosses, as a self-owner operator truck driver for over 20 yrs. He will be very much missed and was surrounded by amazing friends and family that honored the loving heart he had, and those special memories of him will always bring a smile to our face. Jose was survived by his wife Lupe Vasquez, daughters Denise Vasquez Soto, Daisy Cangas-Delgado, Lorena Cano, and son Tony Vela, grandchildren Ebony Vasquez, Chris, Nate, Chente, Belle, JR, Matthew, Savanah, and Deven, sisters Margie Ramirez, Vicky Estrada, and Norma Luevano, brothers Jorge, Oscar, Frank, and Abraham Vela. Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina.
