Jose Cruz Valdez

Jose Cruz Valdez, 91, died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veteran’s home on August 4, 2021. Jose served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a great mechanic and was the owner-operator of his trucking business before retiring. He loved driving as he was free on the road. He was also known for being a great baseball player hitting home runs. His other hobbies included fishing and being an avid pool player. Jose is survived by his children, Maricruz Herrera (Jessie), Sara Keller (David), Sonya McMillin (Gordon), Salvador Valdez (Nancy), and Jose Valdez (Brandy). He is also survived by his sister, Eunice Baca (Raul). He left a legacy as a grandfather to Jessica Marie, Jose Cruz Salvador, Kelly, Janelle, Richard, Sally, Alyssia, and Jose (Joey) and great grandfather to Cali Izabella, Ruby Rose, Zachary, Hailey, Braeden, Isaias Angel, Isabella Ann, Gabriel Cruz, Jose, and Julian Cruz. He was preceded in death by his daughter Ruth Valdez and parents Salvador Valdez and Rumalda Herrera Valdez. Memorials may be made to Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veteran’s home, El Paso, Texas.
