Jose Isabel Mireles

Jose I. Mireles, “Chavelo” was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, January 24, 2010, in his home at peace. Chavelo was born on November 5, 1935, in Esmeralda, Mexico to Benina and Anastacio Mireles. Chavelo was a brick layer and retired from his company, Mireles and Sons, in 1997. Survivors are is wife Maria Elena Mireles, his eight children, Jose I Jr, Gerardo, Ruben, Lorenzo, Enrique, Ernesto; daughters Leticia Sifuentes and Gloria Grajeda; one sister Guadalupe Hernandez; two brothers Anastacio and Manuel Mireles. Other survivors include twenty-two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister and one grandchild Andy Mireles. Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 pm with a Vigil at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at San Martin De Porras Catholic Church. Interment to follow a Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as pallbearers, will be eight of his grandchildren; Jesse Grajeda, Joshua Sifuentes, Gerardo Jr, Lawrence Jr, Bobby, Enrique Jr, William and Ruben Jr. Mireles. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose I Jr, Gerardo, Ruben, Lawrence, Enrique and Ernesto Mireles. His great legacy will live forever. Although he will be missed, we thank God for a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. May he rest in peace. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
