Jose Antonio Loya”Tony”, 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at his home. Mr. Loya was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a member of the Catholic Community. He is preceded in death by his parents: Juan & Refugio Loya; brother Lorenzo Loya; sister: Ofelia Grijalva; grandchildren Sara Loya and Carlita F. Padilla. Mr. Loya is survived by his wife: Nela Loya, sons: Joe Loya, Ralph (Marty) Loya, George (Martha) Loya daughters: Estela (Carlos)Padilla, Becky (Fred) McWhorter, Magda (Damian) Maureira, brother: Juan Loya Jr., sister: Dolores Chavez, grandchildren: Gabriel (Jessica) Padilla, Celina (Mike) Padilla-Carrillo, Christina (Stratos) McWhorter, Regina Loya, Andres Loya, Niklos Maureria, Diego Maureria, Fabian Loya, Georgina Loya, Karina Loya, great-grandchildren: Carla M. Padilla, Josh Carrillo. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas. Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008 at La Purisima Catholic Church (Mission). Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008 at La Purisima Catholic Church (Mission). Interment will follow at Socorro Cemetery with Military honors. In lieu of flowers please make donations to La Purisima Restoration fund; 328 S. Nevarez. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes - Americas.
