Jose Antonio Aguinaga

Jose Antonio Aguiñaga, age 74, retired Pastor of La Viña del Señor, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2008. He was born July 15, 1933, in Brownsville, Texas to the late Jesus and Maria Elena Aguiñaga. He was owner of the El Paso Cabinet and Millwork and Veteran of the United States Army, 1st Cavalry stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. There he met his future wife and on November 13, 1955 he was united in marriage to Elodia Grajeda. Reverend Jose Aguiñaga was founder and Pastor of La Viña del Señor for 32 years. There he strived to help people and guide them in their walk with God. Many people in the community were blessed by his ministry and will forever be grateful to him and his lovely wife for all their love and sacrifice. He was a devoted husband and father. He taught his children the importance of love, hard work and responsibility. From baking biscuits to building homes his efforts live on through his children. Today his hands continue to love, support, build and preach through his offspring. He will forever remain alive in the hearts of both his immediate and church family. He is survived by his wife Elodia G. Aguiñaga, his six children, sons and their wives Jose and Laura, Rodolfo and Eva, and Jorge and Ninfa, daughters and their husbands Rosalinda and Pedro Terrazas, Elizabeth and Carlos Hernandez and Sara and Antonio Rivera. Twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm, Monday, June 16, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast with Pastor Antonio Gomez, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
