Jorge Luis Woo Kee Solano

Jorge Luis Woo Kee passed on from this earth to cultivate new lands on March 16, 2023.

Jorge had an abundance of love for his wife of 29 years, Lisa Pereira Woo Kee, and their loving children Esteban (26) and Emily (22).

Jorge was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on June 6, 1949. Jorge’s father was Kee Woo, a Chinese immigrant who built a successful agricultural business based in Chihuahua. His mother, Maria Concepcion Solano, was a native of Madera, Chihuahua. Jorge was predeceased by his parents and his older brother, Hector. Jorge managed the business his father started, raising cattle and farming for decades. But he was known best for his generosity, sense of humor, and gentle nature. Jorge instilled in everyone he talked to his vision of hope for humanity marked by his belief in scientific progress and social justice. He will be missed by his friends in La Junta and the surrounding area.

Jorge will be forever remembered by: his loving sister Rosa Nelida Aoki of Chihuahua, Mexico (husband Takayuki Aoki and children Rene, Mario (wife Akane and children Mario and Mayra), Hayato, and Erika (son Ken)); his sister in law Andrea Pereira (husband Paul and children Julia and Sofia); brothers in law Donald Pereira (wife Lyn and son Leo), Andy Pereira, and Mark Pereira (wife Anita, children Grace, Rose, and Stefan); and his father and mother in law Andrew and Anna Pereira.

The knowledge and love Jorge bestowed on his family and friends will be carried in their hearts forever.

The family shares its immense gratitude with the Hernandez family of La Junta, Arturo Garcia of La Junta, Joanne and James Willard of El Paso, Jenny and Tony Casas of El Paso, Dr. Jesus Gomez and Envision Hospice for their love and support during Jorge’s difficulty journey.

Jorge, Lisa, Esteban, and Emily will carry your love with us por siempre.

Jorge's Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on  Sunday, May 28, 2023 at El Ranchito La Junta, Chihuahua, Mexico.
