Jorge Monroy Alvarez, 84, passed away January 23, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isidoro and Panfila Alvarez, his loving wife, Alicia S. Alvarez, siblings, Agapito, Celso, Jesus, Juanita, Filiberta, grandchildren, Geoffrey D. Alvarez, Laura A. Alvarez, Angel Alvarez and Harley Elena Merrick. Jorge is survived by his children, Jorge Alvarez, Jr. (Maria), Alicia Hernandez (Robert), Patricia Alvarez, Marcos Alvarez, Albert Alvarez (William Pedrotti), Blanca E. Morales (Arturo), Mario Alvarez (Veronica), Edward Alvarez (Lynda). He is also survived by his brother, Zeferino Alvarez, sister, Eustacia Cordero and 23 grandchildren. A Visitation will be at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. with a Rosary/Vigil at 8:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 673 Old Hueco Tanks Rd. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jorge Alvarez, Albert Alvarez, Edward Alvarez, Jeremy R. Hernandez, Mario J. Alvarez and Edward M. Alvarez.
