Johnny Ray Badillo, 51, went on to be with our Lord on Friday, May 20th 2022
Johnny Ray was born in El Paso, TX on Mother’s Day - May 12th 1971. He graduated from El Paso High School and went on to do great and marvelous things, such as; Touring the local Rodeo Circuit as a bull-rider (with the buckles to prove it), traveled all areas across West Texas, managed the day to day activities of cattle ranches, constructed steel buildings and created lifelong friendships.
Johnny Ray was born to Cowboy and did it well. His ranch at Hueco Tanks was one of his many undertakings and anyone who visited him was treated to amazing conversations over a blazing campfire and heavenly views of the night sky.
Johnny Ray is preceded in death by his Daughter; Shannon Raey, Grandson; Mateo, Parents; Ray and Virginia. He leaves behind his sisters Tryna, Thelma and Thalia, his brothers Rey and Ryan, sister in-law Christina and several nieces and nephews as well. Last but not least are his beloved horses Stormy, Dakota, Charlie (the biter) and his ranch dogs Houdini and Blue.
*Little brother – Keep your heels down, ride Geronimo as fast as you can and make sure you and Wrangler leave some coffee on for the rest of us.
Johnny Ray Badillo, 51, Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Saint Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa, Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery - Alameda, 4301 Alameda.
