John Keith Miller

John Keith Miller (May 14, 1929-March 14, 2011) was born to Paul and Helen Miller in Indianapolis, Indiana. He married Lilyane Roulland on April 4, 1953. John graduated from Indiana University in 1954 with a Master’s of Social Work and entered the US Army in 1955. He spent 20 years as a career military officer, the last seven as Chief of Social Work Services at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. John worked for the state of Texas, followed by a career in private social work practice, as a consultant to the VNA, and as an instructor at EPCC and UTEP. John’s greatest joy and sense of accomplishment came from his family. He loved a good dog, a good golf game, a good card game, and a good project to build. His interest in genealogy and writing will keep family history and stories alive for the future generations. John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lilyane; children: Michelle (Dan), Andrea (Jim), Keith (Suzanne); grandchildren, Kyle (Sheley), Greg, Brett, Kellye, Caroline, Drew, Matt, John; and great-grandchildren, Mathilda and Austin. Visitation: Thursday, March 17th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Memorial Service: Friday, March 18th at 1 pm at St. Clements Church. Interment at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Military Honors will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Visiting Nurses Association or the Animal Rescue League.
