John Thomas Menapace, 54, of El Paso, passed away on February 14, 2025. Loving family surrounded him at the time of his passing. Born on February 13, 1971, in Cortland, New York, to William Thomas Menapace and Patricia Ann Ulshoeffer, John was the youngest of four children and had a wonderful sense of humor. He spent part of his childhood living in Singapore before moving to El Paso at the age of eight. John was a kind, loving, and compassionate son and brother.
In his work life, John began his career specializing in remodeling projects but later transitioned to residential construction, where he worked as a construction foreman. He was passionate about his work and paid meticulous attention to detail. John took great pride in his craftsmanship and dedicated substantial time and energy to ensure that his homes were of the highest quality.
John had a unique way of making everyone feel like a friend. He was warm and welcoming to everybody he met, always caring about others. His love for movies was infectious, and he had an amazing talent for memorizing movie lines, which kept everyone laughing. Plus, he had this incredible knack for putting things together—no instructions needed!
John and Marife truly found their match in each other when they tied the knot in 2015. Their love story blossomed into a wonderful family filled with joy, thanks to their two amazing kids, Myles and Madison. John has always been a devoted husband and father, knowing the importance of family.
Before their little ones came along, John and Marife traveled to some breathtaking spots across the U.S. They experienced the stunning beauty of Alaska and were captivated by the spectacular Aurora Borealis. They also had a blast at Niagara Falls! As a family, they cherished their time with weekend adventures, exploring scenic back roads, having movie nights, and diving into fun video games.
John is predeceased by his father, William T. Menapace, and his long-time fur baby, Zip. He is survived by his wife, Marife, and two children, Myles and Madison; his mother, Patricia Menapace; sisters Lorrie Ball (Alan) and Donna Gillett (Lee); and brother Steve Menapace (Robin); his nieces and nephews, Emily and Ashley Ball, Kendall Gillett, Stephen and Samantha Menapace, Nicholas Miller, and Dominic Juarez; and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Vinay M. Patel for his unwavering care and support for John over the years. They also wish to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses in the ICU at Providence Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care.
