JOHN T. LECHUGA, beloved son, brother, nephew, and uncle. He passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2008, with his immediate family at his bedside. John was born on November 24, 1946, in El Paso. He entered the Army during the VietNam War era and was proud to serve his country as a black beret, a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne divisions. John had been a disabled veteran for many years prior to his passing. He is survived by his mother, Soledad Serrano, of El Paso, as well as by his sister and brother, Guadalupe and Cruz Lechuga of Cupertino and San Jose California; his aunt, Isaura Torres Solorzano of El Paso; his uncle, Jess Torres of Los Altos Hills, California; and cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 am, Monday, September 8, 2008 at San Francis of Assisi Mission, 5750 Doniphan Drive, El Paso. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
