John M. Kiser went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2007. John was the youngest child born to William and Liza Kiser on April 25, 1915 in Marietta, Georgia. He was a member of the Turner Chapel Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia where he enjoyed attending Sunday school and church.
John finished high school in Marietta and moved to New York; he worked as a porter until he was drafted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged and returned to New York; there he owned and operated a taxi business until he retired in 1982. On April 12, 2007 he moved to El Paso to live with his nephew, John McGuire and his wife and Shirley. Preceding him in death were his father, William Kiser, Mother, Liza Kiser; two brothers and two sisters, Claudia and Lizzie McGuire. He leaves behind two nieces, Lillian and Claudia McGuire of Kennesaw, Georgia. 7 Nephews, Herbert (Eleanor), Alvin (Peggy), Walter, and Frank, all of Kennesaw, Georgia; Willie McGuire of Landover, Maryland; John McGuire (Shirley) of El Paso, and Nicholas McGuire (Earlene) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a host of great nephews, nieces and friends.
Graveside Service at 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.com
