John James Harrison, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend passed away following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s on August 19, 2022, in El Paso, Texas at the age of 73.

He faced everything in life that challenged him with his usual grace, courage, humor, and love for his family.

A Memorial Service and a Celebration of his life will be held on September 24th, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 2620 Crestview Drive, Edinburg, Texas 78539.

He is survived by his brothers Burt Charles Harrison, Jr. (Beatrice) and Bill Harrison (Ana), his sister Janice Cavaliere and numerous nieces and nephews.

His favorite childhood memories always included adventures with his brothers and his best friends Humberto De Los Santos and the late David Ross.

After attending Texas A&I University, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, and completing his degree in geography and geology at the University of Texas Brownsville, he began his lifetime of work in the petroleum service industry throughout all of South Texas, Mexico, and Latin America.

His career with Balon Valves and his work with the men of Balon’s Southern region were an important highpoint in his career.

He left an indelible imprint on the lives of his daughters Heather, Lauren, and Katherine by teaching them to value themselves and to value the good in all people.

He never knew a stranger, he never did an unkind thing, and there was nothing he enjoyed more in life than watching a football game with Jason his son-in-law and his two grandsons Harrison and Mills.

His Honorary Pallbearers are: Burt Harrison Jr., Bill Harrison, Jason Hall, Jim Mills, Jr., Trey Mills, Humberto De Los Santos, Armando Garza, Jr., Gary Garza, and his colleagues in the Southern Region of Balon Valves.
