John David “Andy” Anderson, age 82, passed away March 14th at his residence. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges. Andy stayed strong for his family until the end.
Andy was born March 8, 1939 in Illinois to Howard and Beulah (Martin) Anderson. After attending college, he joined the US Navy in 1959 serving for six years. After his military service, he worked for Ryan Aeronautics and various other companies at White Sands Missile Range.
Andy is survived by his wife, Isabel; three children: Elly Luke, John (Tracy), and Keith (Michelle); two sisters: Geraldine Plater and Lou Ann Davis; ten grandchildren: Jera (Bea), Christopher, Jennifer, Johnathon (Ruth), Kristen, Katelyn, Kameo, Krimson, Kayla, Idina; and one great-granddaughter: Demi.
Andy and Isabel celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in November 2020. He was strong enough to celebrate one last birthday with family less than a week before he passed away. He will be missed dearly by his family and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Melinda Dussler.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, with Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, on Monday, March 22, 2021, 4631 Hondo Pass. Due to COVID-19 regulations, a Private Committal Service will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Please visit online registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
