Joe Lynden Young was born in White Wright Texas, on May 1st, 1925. The LORD gracefully carried him back into his eternal kingdom on February 4th, 2021. He passed peacefully in his home around those who loved him. Joe was a wonderful brother, son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by those who had a chance to be in the presence of his soul. Joe is preceded in death by his loving parents; Sidney Young† and Frances Louis Murphy† and his siblings; Patsy Young†, Peggy Young†, and Jack Young†. Joe is survived by his adoring daughter; Griselda Young, and his grandchildren; Briana Gonzalez and Ivan Gonzalez. He is also survived by many friends and extended family who will forever honor and cherish his name. Joe served in the U.S Navy and is a World War ll hero. He proudly served abroad the USS Blessman in 1945 and survived a bombing by the Imperial Japanese Naval Air Service, during the invasion of Iwo Jima. The Blessman quickly came to be known as, “The ship the Japanese could not sink”. Joe retired working for Shell after 45 years of service as a Civil Engineer. He was a generous, humble man, who was always willing to help those in need unconditionally. He will eternally be missed, and the love he shared with us will never fade from our hearts. Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00p.m. at Sunset Funeral Homes West, 480 N. Resler Drive, El Paso, TX 79912.
