Joe Galindo, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in El Paso, Texas. Joe was a proud WWII veteran, serving as surgical technician in the Pacific Theater, and also worked for the Pullman Company. He retired as a meat cutter after 35 years. Joe will be remembered by all for his sunny disposition, wonderful sense of humor, unwaivering character, and the way he truly cared about the happiness of others. He is survived by daughter; Esther G. Escarcega, and grandchildren; Beatrice and Paul Escarcega, great-grandchildren, Joseph Escarcega and Benjamin,and Erin Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews. Although departed, Joe will be forever alive in our hearts and memories in how he touched all of our lives in his very special way. Till we meet again Papa Joe…WE LOVE YOU. We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Del Sol Hospital Emergency and telemetry units. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2009 with a Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East located at 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Monday, December 7, 2009 at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Alameda Cemetery with Military Honors.
