Joe Kelley Foster passed away on March 7, 2013. Joe was born in Colorado City, Texas on August 17, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of El Paso. He graduated from Austin High School in 1949 and from Texas Tech University in 1953. Joe married Sue Wilson of El Paso in 1952. They had four children together. Joe worked his entire business career as a commercial realtor. He was a prominent business, political and civic figure in El Paso for over 40 years and was proud of his numerous friendships with people from all walks of life, from local athletes to Texas politicians. Joe was instrumental in the formation of the El Paso Community College and was its first Board of Trustees chairman. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Willett and Evelyn Foster. He is survived by his partner, Bonnie Kaber, her daughter Jill Bartlett and husband Jon; his children, David Foster, Dan Foster and wife, Nancy, Cindy Lyons and husband, Guy Fields, and Stephen Foster and fiancé Hillary Skipworth; his brother, Dr. Daniel Foster and wife, Dorothy, and nephews Dan, Mike and Chris; his grandchildren Bryan and wife Saralyn, Colin, Sean and Kyle Foster, Jessica and Ethan Foster, Kelley Lyons, Jordan Dawson and husband Andy, and Christian Lyons, and Kaley, Jon and Adam Foster. A memorial service will be held at Trinity First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Mesa, at 2:00 p.m. on March 15, 2013. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
