Joe Scott Falkner,

LTC. (Ret.) Joe Scott Falkner Jr., 74, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2011. Joe was born on September 18, 1936 in Charleston, West Virginia. Joe served our country proudly in the U.S. Army for 28 years. Upon his retirement from the Army, he worked for Colsa, Inc. for eight years and retired as Executive Vice President. He and his wife Carol retired to Phoenix, AZ and then moved to El Paso in 2003 where he become a Certified Master Gardener which enabled him to become a valuable mentor, teacher and leader for El Paso Master Gardeners and was awarded Master Gardener Emeritus. He was also an avid golfer and member of Santa Teresa Country Club. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann Falkner and seven children, Victoria Jones (David), Susan Babenco (Lew), Stephen Falkner (Ramona), Kenneth Jackson, Robert Jackson (April), Russell Jackson, Nikki Bitters (Gary) and eleven grandchildren. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 12th at 2:00 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Reception will follow immediately after the service at the Falkner family home.
