Joan Mills

Joan S. Mills April 2, 1939 - June 9, 2016 Joan S. Mills (born April 2, 1939), died unexpectedly on June 9, 2016 in Philadelphia, PA at the age of 77. A New Jersey native, Joan moved to El Paso in 1982 upon her marriage to the late Robert J. Mills, Sr. She resided there until her recent relocation to Philadelphia to be near her daughter. Mrs. Mills worked in the banking industry for over 40 years, where she provided the highest quality service to her customers. After her retirement in 2003, Mrs. Mills enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling on cruises with her daughter, and spending time with her many dear friends. Mrs. Mills is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kathleen M. Loomes of Philadelphia, PA and her brother, John C. Servis of Daytona Beach, FL. Also surviving are 5 step-children, Susan Phillips, Donna Byers, Robert J. Mills, Jr., Carl Mills and Cynthia Mills, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation and prayer service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast (4637 Hondo Pass Drive) on Friday, June 17, 2016 beginning at 9 am, followed by interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Joan S. Mills to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pediatric Liver Center.
