Jesus Muñoz

Jesus “Chuy” Muñoz, 95, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Jesus Muñoz was born in San Jose de Vella Vista, Pino Zacatecas on 15 June 1929. He grew up on a ranch during his adolescence and became skilled in raising livestock as well as farming. In his young adult life Chuy managed serval successful business in San Luis Potosi, all of which he left behind when he migrated to the United States in 1975. Shortly upon his arrival he was employed at The Drywall Shop, where he worked until retirement in 2000. Chuy lived a life of humility, kindness and above all kept a great sense of humor.

Jesus is preceded in death by his son Joel Muñoz, daughter Maria Cruz, and brother Fausto Muñoz. He is survived by his sons; Oscar Muñoz, Antonio Muñoz, Luis F. Muñoz, and Jesus Jr. Muñoz, brothers Maximo Muñoz and Santos Muñoz; sisters Profiria Muñoz, Florina Muñoz, and Leandra Ledezma, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette. Interment time is currently pending.
