Jesus Oscar “Chuy” Meza June 12, 1939 - November 20, 2021 Jesus Oscar “Chuy” Meza, age 82, resident of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday November 20, 2021. Chuy lived in Gardena, California for 20 years after serving in the USAF for 21 years. He worked for Northrop Grumman and was manager of Regency apartment complex when he lived in Gardena, California. Chuy enjoyed working with his hands and being around people. He moved back to his hometown of El Paso, Texas in 2017. He enjoyed eating Mexican food especially menudo, jalapeños and good wine. He also loved to dance; he especially loved dancing with his sister Isela Romero. We would be in a restaurant and a familiar song would play and he would jump up from the table and hold out his hand for Isela to join him in a dance. Chuy was preceded in death by his mother Elodia Meza, father Ricardo Meza, sisters Isela Romero husband Javier Romero, Dora Orona husband Tony Orona, brothers Richard Meza wife Lina Meza, Humberto Meza wife Dominga Meza, George Meza wife Maria Meza, Ernesto Meza wife Terry Meza. Survivors; ex-spouse Cecilia J. Meza, daughter Yvette C. Hernandez husband Sam Hernandez, son Jesus O. Meza Jr., sister Mary Lou Soule husband Louis Soule, grandchildren Matthew P. Hernandez, Ashley Meza and Sara Meza, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, Texas 79915. Interment to follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson, El Paso, Texas 79906. Pallbearers; Matthew Hernandez, Sam Hernandez, Albert Pacheco, David Pacheco,Tony Orona and Danny Santos. Honorary pallbearers Fernie Orona and Luis Martinez. Reception to follow after burial.
