Jesus Lara, 66, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, went home on Feb 15, 2021.
Jeus was born on Feb 11, 1955 in El Paso, TX. He joined the US Marine Corp at the age of 17 and later served in the Army Reserves. At the age of 21, Jesus met Sylvia, they married one year later on March 12, 1977. Jesus and Sylvia were happily married for 43 years and have three children.
After the military, Jesus worked as a Surgical Technician at hospitals in El Paso TX, Lubbock TX and Alamogordo NM.
Jesus is survived by: wife Sylvia, his three children, Jesus Jr (Natalie), Albert, and Amanda (Cody). Jesus was a loving grandfather to his seven granchildren: Joshua, Audrey, Adriena, Isaac, Noelani, Ariya, and step grandchild Tristan. Jesus is also survived by seven brothers; Trinidad, Rosalio (Hortencia), Manuel (Maria), Pete (Sandra), Larry, Javier (Elsa), and Jaime (Araceli) and several nieces and nephews.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents Natividad Ortega Lara and Pedro Lara, sisters; Florina Tarin and Mary Torres.
Jesus broke many hearts when he went to heaven, and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Sunset Funeral Home, Mount Carmel Church & Cemetery, and Mike Lara.
A visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a vigil/rosary at 3:00 PM, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
