Who could evaluate every slide of grass cut on her lawn, parallel park a manual on New York hills, manage two floors of nurses, and still find time to make green jello with bananas? Jane Elizabeth Pinedo. A wonderful soul and sometimes spicy ex yellow-belly-yankee passed away Sunday the 30th at the age of 90. There’s no question about it, Jane had a hardened exterior. Yet to her friends and family, she was soft and sweet to the core. She was nurse and 1st lieutenant in the Air Force. A fitting job for someone who labelled the label maker. She met her husband Joseph Pinedo “Joe” in a tango dancing class back in 1959 and they were married for just under 50 years until Joe passed. Jane had only one daughter, Laura whom she adored. Jane sewed clothing for Laura’s barbies and found creative ways to construct dollhouses for her. She saved every birthday and Christmas card. She loved animals, bowling, long walks, was an accomplished piano player, and had more books then the El Paso Public Library. She greeted everyone with smiles and big hugs extending from novelty cat t-shirts. She is survived by her daughter Laura Quintana (Jaime Quintana) and grandchildren Benjamin Davenport, Daniel Davenport (Kathryn Davenport), and Jason Davenport.
Services will be held in her honor at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on August 21st, 2023 at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers please donate to The El Paso Humane Society.
