James Edward Santoscoy

October 25, 1980 — August 20, 2012

James Edward Santoscoy was born October 25, 1980 and departed from us on August 20, 2012. He was an overachiever and relished in consistent complex and difficult accomplishments. James attended St. Patrick’s Parish School and graduated from St. Clements Episcopal Parish School 1995. In 1998 he graduated from Cathedral High School with honors. He then graduated from Baylor University in 2004 with a major in Neuroscience, with an emphasis in Neuropharmacology and medical terminology, a minor in Philosophy, with a special interest in Business Ethics, and a minor in Spanish. At Baylor he became a Brother in the Omega Delta Phi Alpha Xi Chapter. He received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at El Paso with a major in International Business, with special emphasis in Business Law & Ethics. James was currently pursuing an Engineering Degree and had started advanced mathematics. He was an entrepreneur at heart, and created several small businesses. He started Southwest Biodiesel LLC, Santoscoy Income Tax Service, and Santoscoy Construction. He loved learning and applying his knowledge in all aspects of his life. His passions directed his life, and he was dedicated to education and helping others. James was the most beautiful example of what it means to be a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. To many, he was a North Star guiding the way towards a life of compassion, forgiveness and love. James was a whirlwind for those who didn’t know him, like his family understood him. He tackled many situations with energy and determination to complete the task. His voice was always loud and hearty. He was born a confident son. He often assumed leadership positions in groups of his peers. Intellectual pursuits never relinquished his pursuits of happiness, and desired dreams of entrepreneurship, and the want to make his family proud. James had multiple mentors who helped shape his life. Dr. Robert Santoscoy helped start his interest in science, which culminated in his choice of study at Baylor. Bob Dickinson taught him about industrial technology and regulations, which proved to be very helpful in the remodeling of houses and the formulation of a biodiesel enterprise. Dr. Gregory Santoscoy provided some support when things were not going so well for him. His mother and father instilled in him the incredibly useful personality trait of persistence, which enabled him to push through adverse situations. James had immense intellectual reserve. He would surprise you with the sheer depth and broad range of his intellect. He could fix almost anything and had outstanding mechanical skills as well as a curiosity for all things mechanical. He was a leader, and was very professional. He had innate negotiation skills, and he was eager to try and find the solution to a given problem. He never gave up. James was a kind & generous person whose force of personality impacted all who knew him. Dear James, we were all unprepared to let you go & say goodbye. And only in death should we do so. You taught us all well, especially with your demonstrated compassion, love, and forgiveness. You were a brother, son, cousin and an uncle. You will never be forgotten. Carry yourself on to greater things in the realities to come, and we will proudly stand behind you and honor your memory. We Love you, Jimmy. We will miss you, always and forever. Much love Mom, Dad, Geoffrey, Chris, and Lydia. James is survived by his loving family: parents Lily and Norman. He also is survived by his brother Norman Geoffrey and his own family, including Sandra and niece Zoie Sian, as well as his brother Christopher Steven, and sister Lydia Renee. He is survived also by his grandmother Rita Ramirez, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers: Norman G. Santoscoy, Christopher S.
