James Walter Roy II

James Walter Roy II, age 65, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. James is preceded in death by his parents: James Walter Roy Sr. and Mary Teresa Keegan, and his daughter: Mary Elizabeth Roy. He is survived by his wife: Melinda Sue Roy, his children: Sean Michael Roy (Lindsey), James Walter Roy III, David Kevin Roy (Hannah), Aaron Keegan Roy, and Catherine Emily May Roy, his sister: Catherine Anne Roy, his granddaughter: Mackenzie Rae Ann Roy, and his former wife: Sharon Lee Roy. He is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor his memory. Jim had many close friends and acquaintances through the years to join him on his life adventures. Jim was born April 26, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey, USA. As a young teenager, he lived in Dundalk, Ireland, where his mother was from. In 1973, his family moved to El Paso when his father was assigned to Fort Bliss. In 1983, Jim moved to Los Angeles, California and spent 10 years working with Wells Fargo Alarm. He spent his time lovingly taking care of his children and family. As his family grew, they decided to move back to El Paso. Jim was quick-witted, with a passion for learning. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Education. Jim loved photography, fast cars, motorcycles, and flying. He also enjoyed shooting and making ammo; skills he learned from his father and passed on to his children. Jim was very proud of his children and loved them all very much. He was someone they could always count on to be there. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home- West on Thursday, February 03, 2022 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, February 04, 2022 at 1:15pm at Saint Patrick Cathedral Church, 1118 N. Mesa, El Paso, Texas. Following the funeral mass will be a graveside service at 2:30pm, at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
