SGM (Ret’d) James Thomas Postelle, Sr. met our Lord on October 10, 2008, at the age of 75. James was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on January 28, 1933 to the late Florence and Christopher Postelle. James was the youngest supervisor to work for Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan and was drafted into the United States Army in 1953. He served his country proudly for 29 years and received many honors, discharged May 1982. Second career in civil service at Ft. Bliss, TX retiring in 1995 as Deputy Director of Logistics, with 44 combined years of service.
James was a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8919, Life members of National and Local 187th Regimental Combat Team of the Rakkasan.
He leaves a loving and devoted wife, Yvonne, Mother-in-law, Josephine Riley, Sons, James Jr. and wife Susan Postelle of Cedar Park, TX, Christopher and John Postelle of Leander, TX, Mark and wife Rene of Nesbitt, MS, daughters, Anna and husband Samuel Stewart of Osan, Korea, Tina and husband James Harris of Grand Prairie, TX. Grandchildren, James III and wife Digmar Postelle, Cody Postelle, Ashleigh and husband Adrain LaCour, Markie and Morgan Postelle, Spencer and Shelby Mohunbro, Cameron and Dylan Stewart, Bailey and Mackinlee Harris, great grandchild, Adrian LaCour, Jr., brothers, Kenneth Postelle of GA, Max and wife Margie Postelle of GA, and sister, Betty Jo and husband Joe Henderson of GA. Preceded in death by brother, William and sister, Reathel Postelle.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered (Come to me) With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay; God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Funeral Service: 9:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Interment to follow with full Military Honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to El Paso Homeless Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
