Lieutenant Colonel (U.S. Army Ret.) James Curtis McCoy, loving husband, father and brother died peacefully at home to be with the Lord, on December 31, 2008, following a long-term battle with illness. Born in Mississippi on November 27, 1929, he spent 27 years in the Army, retiring as a Lt. Col. After, his retirement he worked for H & R Block for many years as a tax preparer. He is survived by his wife Pauline, two sons; Stewart and Jim, three brothers, one sister, and three grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. McCoy will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Monday, January 5, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chapel of Peace. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chaplain Sam Faraone officiating. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society here in El Paso, Texas.
